The Smoot residence is a case in point for the idea that Modernism can still be warm, inviting, and full of saturated color and character.

The use of bold red walls in the living space play of the amazing view of the striking Broadway Bridge seen from the floor-to-ceiling windows in this condo, connecting the outside environment with the home interior space in an urban bio-mimic fashion.

The coffee table was made from reclaimed Birch wood from the Portland area and constructed by Eric McClelland of Treeform. The custom Oak mirror in the bedroom was made of White Oak stained to match the client's bed, and to provide a dramatic yet warm contrast against the cobalt blue walls.
